There is no need to claim copyright in some way, protection is <strong>automatic<\/strong> at the point of creation. Copyright is <strong>owned<\/strong> by the creator of the work (&#8216;software&#8217;) that <strong>holds<\/strong> the <strong>copyright<\/strong> of the work.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright law grants to copyright holder (&#8216;Grau GmbH&#8217;) certain <strong>exclusive rights<\/strong> in relation to their works. They have the right to :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>copy a work<\/li>\n<li>issues copies to the public<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They also have the right to <strong>prevent<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>others communicating a work to the public<\/li>\n<li>others making available the work to the public (e.g. putting it on website)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Copyright holder may <strong>grant permission<\/strong> or <strong>license<\/strong> anyone else to do <strong>use their works<\/strong>, without affecting their ownership of the copyright in their work. The copyright in the work (as described above) remains.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of certain international treaties and conventions, works have the <strong>same copyright protection<\/strong> in <strong>other countries<\/strong> as those created in the country of the copyright holder.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Why Copyright?<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Copyright is the motivation for us programmers to develop software for <strong>end-users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Copyright enables us programmers to <strong>develop<\/strong> our creativity &#8211; without copyright, we would not develop software at all, and would give up our day job.<\/li>\n<li>Copyright allows us programmers to <strong>get paid<\/strong> for the work.<\/li>\n<li>Copyright supports us programmers to <strong>further develop<\/strong> our software &#8211; without copyright, our software would not be improved at all.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Copyright protects the work (published or not published) of a software creator (&#8216;Grau GmbH&#8217;).
